This is a magnificent original 19 century French bronze marble figure by famous artist Mathurin Moreau titled "Livre D'Or". This piece has a wonderful subject, detail, and design, and its fully signed and hallmarked with a foundry seal "Societe Des Bronzes De Paris" further stamped "EW" and "4567", depicting a winged female figurine writing in a book on a pedestal, standing on an integral naturalistic base mounted on a circular plinth bearing a plaque inscribed "Livre d'or/Salon des Beaux Arts". 25 tall, 17"1/2 wide and 10" deep.
